Welcome to the official website of the Academy of Entrepreneurship and Sporting Excellence (AESE).

AESE is a group of local teachers; local parents; former Headmasters; youth workers and other education and business professionals from in or around Tottenham campaigning for a new Free School in the area.

We are working in partnership with the Harris Federation to set up the Free School under the name Harris Free School Tottenham. The Harris Federation is a very successful educational provider with long experience of running schools in London and has over a dozen schools under its wing. The Federations' founder and Chairman, Lord Harris, is also Chairman of the company Carpetright Plc and the burning of his Carpetright store in Tottenham in the August 2011 riots became an iconic symbol of the riots. We have partnered with Lord Harris and the Harris Federation to secure a post-riots legacy for Tottenham - something that will make a long-term difference to Tottenham after the riots that so badly harmed our community and our reputation.

AESE and the Harris Federation will work together to provide a mixed, non-selective state school for 4-19 year olds with tough discipline, high aspirations, high standards, extensive work experience opportunities; a rigorous academic curriculum and specialisms in enterprise and sport. While the Harris Federation will run the school on a day-to-day basis using their very successful, tried and tested methods and practices, AESE will be heavily involved in the management of the school through having representatives on the school's Governing Body and through being a focal point for input from the local community.

In short, we hope to create the best school in Haringey – right on your doorstep in Tottenham. We have been overwhelmed by the huge amount of support we have already received from our local community while embarking on this quest, but we still need your support. We are at the beginning of a very long journey to create something special, and we hope you will join us on this journey.

Yours,

Stephanie Pinnock BA (Hons)
Local parent, school governor and Managing Director of AESE

We are hoping to open the school in September 2013, subject to approval from the Department for Education.
